    White colored semi-solid non-greasy ointment filled in a printed aluminium tube.


    Pharmacotherapeutic Group: Topical corticosteroid

     Pharmacodynamic properties: CLOBSOL (Clobetasol) is a high potency topical corticosteroid and has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties. CLOBSOL control the biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting the release of their common precursor arachidonic acid.

     Pharmacokinetic properties:

    Absorption: Topical corticosteroids can be systemically absorbed from intact healthy skin; Mean peak plasma concentrations: 13 hours after an initial application

    Metabolism: They are metabolized, primarily in the liver.

    Elimination: Excreted by the kidneys; in addition, some corticosteroids and their metabolites are also excreted in the bile.


    Dermatitis, Eczema, Psoriasis, Dermatological Disorders.


    Apply the cream onto affected area twice daily. 


    Children<12 yrs, Long-term treatment of ulcerative conditions, rosacea, pruritus, Presence of acute infections, Hypersensitivity.


    Heart failure, recent myocardial infarction, hypertension, Diabetes mellitus, Epilepsy, Glaucoma, Hypothyroidism, Hepatic failure, Renal impairment, Psychoses, Children and elderly, Pregnancy, lactation


    Burning, stinging, itching, dryness, or redness at the application site may occur; Stretch marks; Skin thinning/discoloration; Acne; Extreme/unwanted hair growth; "Hair bumps". Rarely: Prolonged usage of large amount can lead to sufficient systemic levels to produce adrenal suppression, Cushing's syndrome, diabetes and hypertension.





    • Use this medication on the skin only. Do not use it on the face, groin or underarm unless directed.
    • Avoid applying the medication near the eyes, mouth or nose.
    • Do not use it for longer than 2 weeks in a row or use more than 50g per week unless directed.

    Pregnancy: Category C

    Lactation: It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk when applied to the skin.

    Storage: Store at room temperature protected from light and heat; Do not freeze; Keep out of reach of children.

    Missed dose: If you forget to apply the cream, apply it as soon as you remember; If your next dose is due within an hour, skip the missed dose; Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
